Ms. Saima Qadeer

Managing Director

With great enthusiasm, I embark on my journey with the Kashmir Development Foundation (KDF) in 2024. KDF is dedicated to educating, empowering, and uplifting communities across Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit Baltistan and Pakistan. At KDF, we strive to work hand in hand with communities and institutional stakeholders to alleviate poverty and enhance the quality of life, particularly for those residing in far-flung and inaccessible areas with limited social mobility and essential services.

I firmly believe that every individual residing, working, learning, or conducting business in the rural and urban areas of AJK and Pakistan should have equitable access to national, regional, and local initiatives and programmes to reduce poverty. In a world grappling with conflict, climate change, inequality, and division, KDF is crucial in supporting communities' efforts to address the root causes of poverty and ensure their voices are heard. Their needs and aspirations must be prioritised on the agenda for change, and I am committed to championing their cause.

With over two decades of experience in project management, field operations, donor reporting, and advocacy within Pakistan, I bring invaluable insights and lessons learned to my role as Managing Director of the Kashmir Development Foundation. My passion lies in empowering underrepresented communities by amplifying their voices for sustainable development. I am eager to foster collaborations with donors, drawing from my previous experiences with esteemed organisations such as DFID, UNICEF, USAID, and many others.

Confident in my education, child rights, women's empowerment, and community development expertise, I am poised to lead KDF towards a more significant impact and effectiveness. My commitment extends to consultancy work on women's empowerment and capacity-building initiatives for Afghan refugees, reflecting my dedication to driving positive change in the social sector.

Together, with the support of our stakeholders, donors, and the resilient communities we serve, I am excited to lead KDF into a future filled with promise and opportunity.
